Job Description

SAM is a full service marketing agency that operates on an old ranch in South Austin. Our clients are located across the country and include law firms, non-profits, educational facilities, and other service providers. The Copy Chief is involved in nearly every project SAM does. A love of writing, the ability to juggle multiple projects, and a keen eye for detail are skills that will allow the Copy Chief to thrive.

Duties

  • Create and manage content calendars for multiple clients
  • Source and edit content from internal and external writers (SAM staff, clients, guest bloggers, contractors, etc.)
  • Prepare and send email blasts for various clients using Constant Contact or Emma
  • Upload copy and images to client websites using a CMS
  • Request images from art department for blogs and other copy, when appropriate
  • Review social media posts, ads, web copy, print collateral and all other copy before it goes live or to print
  • Track assignments and status of projects using a project management system

Skills & Experience

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Google Drive, and similar programs
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to write web-optimized copy
  • Well-honed organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects
  • Quick learner – self-motivated
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines
  • Plays well with others
  • Familiarity with basic HTML and CMS systems including WordPress and Drupal a plus
  • Experience with email marketing services (Constant Contact, Emma, etc.) a plus

Requirements

  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree. A degree in advertising or marketing is not a prerequisite.
  • 5+ years experience in marketing

  • Commensurate with experience.
